Dr Soninder Kaur has assumed charge as Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry in Patiala district, becoming the first woman to hold the post in the district following her promotion.
After taking charge, Dr Kaur said she would work with dedication to ensure that the services of the Animal Husbandry Department reach every livestock farmer in the district. She said the department would carry out its responsibilities in accordance with the directions of the Punjab Government under the leadership of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian and Secretary Rahul Bhandari.
The department staff accorded a warm welcome to Dr Kaur on her assuming office. Dr Paramjit Singh, DDAH Training; Dr Chetan Gupta, DDAH Farms; and Dr Raj Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry, headquarters, congratulated her on the appointment.
Dr Rajnik Bhora, ADAP; Dr Gurjit Singh, AD Training; Dr Davinder Pal Singh, AD Farms; Veterinary Officer Dr Jatinder Singh; and Dr Jeevan Gupta were also present.
Office-bearers of the Punjab State Veterinary Officers Association, including its president Dr Arshdeep Kooner, along with other veterinary officers, welcomed Dr Kaur and extended their best wishes. The Veterinary Inspectors Association also congratulated her and assured her of its full cooperation.
Jagdish Singh, former superintendent of the office and chairman of the Bairagi Welfare Board, District Patiala, also conveyed his congratulations to Dr Kaur on assuming charge.
