Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal is scheduled to take oath as the new Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court at a ceremony at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur on Monday.
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Justice Agrawal at 9.30 a.m.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, members of the state Cabinet, senior administrative officials and senior police officers are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Senior members of the judiciary and state administration are also likely to be present.
Preparations at Raj Bhavan have been completed, with enhanced security arrangements put in place in view of the presence of senior constitutional functionaries, ministers and top officials.
The appointment of Justice Agrawal as Chief Justice marks an important development for the Rajasthan High Court. Following the swearing-in, he will formally assume responsibility for the judicial and administrative functioning of the state’s highest court.
As Chief Justice, Justice Agrawal will oversee the functioning of the High Court, including judicial administration, administrative matters and efforts to facilitate the efficient disposal of cases.
He will also be responsible for coordinating various aspects of judicial administration and ensuring the smooth conduct of court proceedings.
The swearing-in ceremony is being closely watched in legal and administrative circles, with senior representatives of the judiciary, Rajasthan government and police administration expected to gather at Raj Bhavan.
With the formal assumption of office, Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal will begin his tenure as head of the Rajasthan High Court.
