Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla has come down strongly on the disturbing threat emails sent to 15 schools across Amritsar, calling it a “barbaric and deeply shameful act”. He said that children are not tied to any religion, ideology or community—“they are the shared future of this nation, and their safety stands above everything else.” Aujla said he was inside the Lok Sabha when the incident came to his notice.
“The moment I stepped out of the House, I was informed about these threats. Such acts are attempts to terrorize society, and we must confront them collectively, without fear,” he said, adding that no parent, teacher or student should feel alone in this situation. “I want to assure everyone—I’m standing firmly with you.”
The MP confirmed that he immediately contacted the Police Commissioner, urging heightened security around all affected schools and a swift, thorough investigation.
He has also pressed the Punjab government to seek direct assistance from the central government and national investigative agencies to ensure the perpetrators are identified and punished without delay. Referring to the earlier threat emails received by the Golden Temple, Aujla noted that the investigation in that case has not seen substantial progress.
“When such incidents repeat themselves, they clearly indicate a pattern. Strong, coordinated action is essential so that these criminals do not slip through the cracks,” he said.
Concluding his statement, Aujla asserted, “Our children are the nation’s most precious asset. No harm can be allowed near them. Those behind this cowardly act must be arrested immediately and dealt with in the harshest possible manner.”
