Today, the three-week wrestling coaching camp at PIS Centre, Sector 63, Mohali, successfully concluded under the guidance of foreign expert coach Mr. Anatoly from Russia, a double Olympic gold medallist and one of the most respected coaches in the world.
Having immense experience at global level, Mr. Anatoly has the distinction of having worked with several national teams.
During the closing interaction, Mr. Anatoly shared modern training methods with Punjab wrestlers and expressed his happiness with the discipline and talent of Punjab wrestlers.
He said that Punjab has immense potential to become a powerhouse in wrestling. If wrestlers from Punjab continue to work hard with systematic training, the next Olympic and Asian Games medals in wrestling can and should come from Punjab, averred the Champion Wrestler.
This camp has given Punjab wrestlers exposure to world-class coaching, advanced techniques, and professional mat habits, which will definitely help them in upcoming national and international competitions.
The Sports Department of Punjab and PIS management appreciated the efforts of all participating wrestlers, coaches, support staff, NRI wrestling organisations, and the Punjab Wrestling Federation. The Department and the PIS management said they look forward to organising more such high-performance camps in the future also.
Director Training, Punjab Institute of Sports, Jiwanjyot Singh Teja (Dronacharya Awardee) was also present.
