The District Administration, Ludhiana, in collaboration with Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Startup Punjab, Ludhiana Angels Network, MBCIE and other partners,organized the Grand Finale and Felicitation Ceremony of ‘Future Tycoons – Ludhiana’ at MBCIE, Sector 32.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, who attended the event as Guest of Honour, emphasized the need to nurture innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among youth to drive sustainable economic growth in Punjab.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, youth, women, and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the district. Following a rigorous process of mentoring, capacity building and evaluation, top innovative ideas were shortlisted and presented during the grand finale.
During the event, Dr T.S. Riar, Dr Poonam Sachdev, Dr Khushdeep Dharni and Dr Karanvir Gill were honoured by Sh Himanshu Jain, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, for their valuable contributions towards strengthening the startup ecosystem.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr T.S. Riar (Principal Investigator, Punjab Agri Business Incubator – PABI) highlighted that such initiatives play a crucial role in identifying grassroots innovators and providing them with the right platform, mentorship and incubation support to transform ideas into viable enterprises.
Dr Poonam Sachdev (Co-Principal Investigator, PABI) reiterated that PABI remains committed to supporting startups through structured programmes, financial assistance and continuous handholding, particularly in the agribusiness sector.
Winners of the competition were felicitated with cash prizes, and the event served as a dynamic platform for interaction among innovators, mentors, industry experts and stakeholders.
