Senior Superintendent of Police, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Harmandeep Singh Hans, has dismissed a police constable from service as part of Punjab Police’s zero-tolerance policy against indiscipline and involvement in unlawful activities.
Providing details, the SSP stated that Senior Constable Jivandeep Singh, No. 2061/SAS Nagar, was dismissed from service following the registration of FIR No. 51 dated 03.06.2026 at Police Station IT City, SAS Nagar. The case has been registered under Sections 304(1), 126(2), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act.
SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans reiterated that under the Punjab Government and Punjab Police’s policy of zero tolerance, the involvement of any police personnel in any unlawful activity will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He further stated that strict action will continue to be taken in such cases to uphold discipline, integrity, and accountability within the police force, and that no individual found violating the law will be spared.
