Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that eliminating Naxalism was not the final destination for India, stressing that the country had a much longer journey ahead and that recent successes against Maoism and poverty should serve as a foundation for greater national ambitions.

He expressed confidence that India would fulfil its goals, citing the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of toilets across households and the expansion of the vaccination drive as examples of commitments that had been achieved.

Reaffirming his faith in security personnel, the country’s youth and citizens, he said their sacrifices and hard work would provide a strong foundation for building a developed India.
