New Delhi, November 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a man allegedly associated with Manipur’s banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA), who was wanted in connection with cases registered in the northeastern state under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other serious provisions.

The accused was apprehended in South Delhi on Friday following intelligence inputs about his whereabouts. Police sources said he had been evading security agencies for a long time and was allegedly living at a concealed location using a fake identity.

A Crime Branch team acted on the tip-off, laid a trap and arrested him. Preliminary investigations indicate that he was wanted in connection with cases registered at Thoubal police station in Manipur.

The accused is being interrogated, with the Delhi Police coordinating with Manipur Police and central security agencies to establish the full extent of his alleged activities and links.

Investigators are also examining why he had been staying in Delhi and whether he had any plans to carry out a conspiracy or attack in the national capital or adjoining areas. No such plan has been confirmed so far.

The PLA is a separatist insurgent organisation founded in Manipur in 1978. Its political wing is the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF). Both organisations have been declared unlawful associations under the UAPA, with the ban periodically extended by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Further details about the accused and the cases against him are awaited as the investigation proceeds.
