Chandigarh, September 24, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab leaders and workers on Thursday staged a protest outside the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) office in Mohali against recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, with protesters surrounding the ED team and raising slogans against the BJP-led Central Government.

The protest was led by AAP Punjab Working President and MLA Amansher Singh Shery Kalsi. A large number of party workers participated in the demonstration, during which slogans including “Jab Jab Modi Darta Hai, Police Ko Aage Karta Hai” were raised.

Addressing the protesters, Kalsi alleged that the BJP was using the Enforcement Directorate to put pressure on the AAP ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections.

“The election season is approaching in Punjab, but for the BJP it means ‘Enforcement Directorate (ED) season’ because it wants to suppress and put pressure on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP),” Kalsi said.

He alleged that similar tactics had been used during the Delhi elections and claimed the BJP was attempting to repeat them in Punjab.

“The BJP had also tried to influence the elections in Delhi and is now doing the same thing in Punjab, thinking that just as it won the elections in Delhi, it will win here as well,” Kalsi said.

He further alleged that the BJP feared the AAP government returning to power in Punjab and was therefore using central agencies to put pressure on the state.

Kalsi also claimed that despite prolonged raids and investigations, the ED had not found anything against AAP leaders. He alleged that the increase in ED activity ahead of the Punjab elections was an attempt to intimidate the state government and divert the AAP’s attention from campaigning.

AAP leaders participating in the protest alleged that the timing and manner of the ED action amounted to an attempt to intimidate government officials. They described the raids ahead of the elections as political pressure by the BJP-led Central Government.

Kalsi said AAP workers and the people of Punjab would oppose what he described as the BJP’s “high-handedness” in the state.

“The people of Punjab and AAP Karyakartas will not tolerate the BJP’s high-handedness at all,” he said.
