Singer Afsana Khan shared an emotional moment with veteran playback singer Sonu Nigam, recalling a special birthday gesture that she said made the occasion unforgettable for her.
The ‘Dhurandhar’ fame singer revealed that Sonu Nigam told her she was the first person ever to cut his birthday cake, a remark that deeply touched her.
Afsana shared a video on Instagram featuring herself, her husband Saajz and Sonu Nigam celebrating the singer’s birthday inside a vanity van. In the video, the trio can be seen cutting the cake together, with Afsana also feeding a piece of cake to Sonu Nigam.
Sharing details of the memorable moment, Afsana said the celebration took place during the shoot of their project ‘Bhoomi 2026’. She mentioned that she had received an invitation to Sonu Nigam’s birthday party but could not attend as she was travelling to the UK.
In her Instagram post, Afsana wrote that she was honoured to receive the invitation and recalled celebrating Sonu Nigam’s birthday on the sets of their project.
“The happiest moment was when Sir smiled and said, ‘You are the first person who has ever cut my birthday cake.’ His words truly touched my heart,” she wrote.
She added that Sonu Nigam enjoyed the cake, blessed her and made the moment a cherished memory.
“Having received the love and blessings of such a legendary artist and a genuinely wonderful human being, I feel truly blessed and grateful,” Afsana said, while wishing him happiness, good health and continued success.
Although Afsana Khan and Sonu Nigam have not collaborated on any major official commercial tracks so far, the two singers share a warm relationship. Earlier in June, Sonu Nigam was seen performing live at Afsana Khan’s star-studded birthday celebration.
