In a significant move aimed at accelerating industrial growth and improving the ease of doing business, the Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday approved amendments to the guidelines governing capital subsidy and investment incentives under the state’s industrial policies.
The Cabinet approved changes to the November 13, 2019 guidelines relating to the disbursement of Capital Subsidy and Investment Incentives.
The amendments are intended to simplify and streamline subsidy disbursement procedures, enhance administrative efficiency and ensure uniform implementation of industrial incentive schemes across eligible units.
Under the revised framework, industrial units eligible for capital subsidy will be able to receive incentives after the omission of Clauses 1.1 and 1.2 of the existing guidelines, subject to verification of required documents and fulfillment of prescribed conditions.
The state government believes the move will provide a further boost to industrial investment and strengthen Punjab’s industrial ecosystem.
