Punjab Govt to Organize Year-Long Events Dedicated to 650th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas: Deepak Bali

Advisor to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali and Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal held a special meeting at the District Administrative Complex regarding preparations for the state-level events to be organised in Kapurthala and Phagwara during the month of May dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. SSP Gaurav Dhura, district presidents and various party office bearers were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, Advisor to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government will organise a series of events dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. Under this initiative, state-level events will also be organised in Kapurthala and Phagwara during the month of May, and information regarding the dates will be shared soon.

He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has prepared a roadmap for state-level programmes and initiatives. These events will include seminars, kirtan samagams, yatras, plantation drives and the establishment of ‘Guru Ravidas Bagichis’ over 650 acres, while the main event in this regard will be held at Khuralgarh.

He said that he considers himself fortunate to have received the opportunity to celebrate the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.

He said that the government will leave no stone unturned in celebrating the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji and that it is the collective duty of all of us to spread Guru Ji’s message across the world.

He said, “Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji envisioned an egalitarian society free from all discrimination. The Punjab Government will ensure that the upcoming 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji is celebrated on a grand scale.”

Referring to the preparations for the celebrations, he said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has planned year-long events to celebrate the “650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji in a magnificent manner. Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji gave the message of the welfare of entire humanity and equality of all sections, and laid the foundation of such an egalitarian society where no one suffers.”

He said that the state government is committed to building society on the teachings and principles of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, which continue to guide humanity towards equality. Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji was a great spiritual messenger and messiah for the poor and underprivileged sections of society, who guided us towards leading a moral life.

He also appealed to the entire Sant Samaj to provide guidance and suggestions for the worldwide celebrations on the occasion of the 650th Prakash Purb.

He said that the year-long celebrations will include seminars and workshops, special kirtan samagams, pilgrimages, school-level competitions, documentary shows, drone shows, blood donation camps and plantation drives.

Apart from this, Guru Ravidas Ji Bagichis will be established over a total of 650 acres of Panchayati land across Punjab along with a plantation campaign of an average of 6.50 lakh saplings per district, besides marathons, Shobha Yatras, cycle rallies and other programmes.

The main event dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purb will include the inauguration of an exhibition on Guru Ravidas Ji’s life, Katha and Kirtan Darbar, Sant Sammelan dedicated to the contribution of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, 3D projection at Minar-e-Begampura, drone show, conference on Guru Ravidas Ji’s Bani and other programmes.

He discussed preparations for the state-level events to be held in Kapurthala and Phagwara with the district administration and also asked them to extend full cooperation in every possible manner.

On this occasion, District Planning Board Chairman Sarbjit Singh Lubana, Aam Aadmi Party Halqa Incharge from Kapurthala Advocate Karambir Singh Chandi, Halqa Incharge from Phagwara Harnoor Singh Harjimaan, Halqa Incharge from Sultanpur Lodhi Sajjan Singh Cheema, besides officers and employees, were also present.
