Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu have said that Muharram inspires people to walk on the path of truth.
In their messages on the occasion of ‘Youm-e-Ashoora’ or 10th Muharram, the Governor and the Chief Minister called for emulating the spirit of Muharram.
“Muharram, the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. Muharram commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet, who sacrificed his life at the altar of true belief,” Governor Abdul Nazeer said.
“Remembrance of goodness and sacrifice is the true meaning of Muharram. It is a time of deep reflection, remembrance, and spiritual devotion. Let us emulate the spirit of Muharram embodying humanism, which is the core principle of Islam,” he said.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated that Muharram inspires us to walk the path of truth, no matter the hardships we face. “Muharram embodies the spirit of sacrifice. On this occasion, let us commemorate the sacrifice of Imam Hussain, who fought for truth and justice without regard for his own life. I hope that Muharram brings peace to everyone and shows the way of righteousness,” he said.
Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also posted his message on social media. “Muharram ‘Ashura’ is a sacred day commemorating the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain, who laid down his life for the sake of truth and justice.
On this occasion, I sincerely hope that our Muslim brethren will move forward with love, compassion, and a spirit of brotherhood, following the path of peace, sacrifice, and humanity shown by Hazrat Imam Hussain,” he said.
Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla extended his “heartfelt wishes” to all on the solemn occasion of Muharram. “May the sacrifice of Imam Hussain at Karbala inspire us to uphold justice, truth, compassion, and harmony.”
Telangana minister for transport and backward classes welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, said that Muharram is a symbol of the spirit of sacrifice and patience.
“Muharram is observed to commemorate the sacrifice made by the Prophet’s grandson, Hazrat Imam Hussain; it stands as a symbol of goodness and sacrifice,” he said.
Director General of Police C. V. Anand said in his message that Muharram reminds us of the timeless values of sacrifice, courage, compassion, and justice. “May this sacred occasion inspire peace, unity, and harmony among all communities.
