Chandigarh, June 26, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The Punjab Government has restored the normal working hours for all its offices, ending the temporary summer schedule that had been introduced to help employees cope with the ongoing heatwave.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel (Personnel-3 Branch), all government offices, boards, corporations and other government institutions across the state will function from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with effect from July 1, 2026.
The state government had, through an order issued on May 24, 2026, temporarily revised office timings to 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM from May 25, 2026, in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions across Punjab.
With weather conditions improving, the government has now decided to discontinue the temporary arrangement and restore the regular office schedule.
The revised order will apply to:
- Punjab Civil Secretariat
- Heads of Departments
- Divisional Commissioners
- Deputy Commissioners
- Punjab Government Boards, Corporations and other offices covered under the notification.
All departments and concerned authorities have been directed to ensure compliance with the revised office timings from July 1.
