Continuing campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has arrested 16 individuals and recovered 75 grams of heroin and 42 intoxicant pills.
Sharing the details, Commissioner of Police, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, said that this operation is being carried out under the supervision of ADCP-1 Smt. Akarshi Jain, ADCP-2 Sh. Harinder Singh Gill, and respective area GOs. As part of the drive, in the past two days, police stations across the district have taken strict action against drug peddlers and users, resulting in the arrest of 16 accused along with narcotic substances. Some of the arrested have a prior history of involvement in drug trafficking.
The following actions have been taken:
• 14 FIRs registered under NDPS Act
• 16 accused arrested for drug-related activities
• 75 grams heroin recovered
• 42 intoxicant tablets seized
CP Jalandhar further informed that along with taking strict action against drug smugglers, focus is also being given to the rehabilitation of drug addicts. Under this initiative, a total of 8 individuals have been admitted to de-addiction and rehabilitation centres for treatment and support.
She affirmed with determination that Jalandhar Police will continue the city-wide intensive campaign to identify and nab drug traffickers, with the sole objective of making Jalandhar a drug-free city.
