The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that 40 Pakistani security personnel were killed and dozens injured in 25 attacks carried out across different parts of Balochistan between October 26 and November 3.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the operations targeted Pakistani military personnel, intelligence operatives and armed groups the organisation described as “death squads”. He claimed that the attacks included ambushes and intelligence-based operations, with several military and logistical vehicles also destroyed or seized.
Among the incidents cited by the group were two attacks on Pakistani military vehicles in Kharan district on November 3. The BLA claimed at least three personnel were killed in an ambush in the Zomi area, while another convoy was targeted later in the day at Nauroz Qalat. It also claimed to have attacked a military installation at Rotinko with heavy weapons.
The group further reported attacks in Ahmad Wal and Mastung on November 2, claiming that three personnel were killed in Ahmad Wal and more than four in an assault on a military convoy near Madina Hotel in Mastung.
In Washuk district, the BLA claimed four personnel were killed and at least seven critically injured in an attack near Sajid on October 28. Another attack in Panjgur’s Gowargo area the same day allegedly killed one security personnel.
The statement also claimed that more than nine personnel were killed in an ambush on a convoy of over 30 vehicles in Khuzdar’s Karkh area on October 26. The convoy allegedly included vehicles associated with the military, police, Counter Terrorism Department and Anti-Terrorism Force.
Other operations cited by the group included attacks on military positions and a truck convoy in Nushki, as well as the seizure of logistics vehicles carrying supplies for Pakistani forces. The BLA also claimed to have stopped commercial vehicles on the Quetta-Taftan highway as part of what it described as an “economic blockade”.
The claims could not be independently verified. No response from Pakistani security authorities was included in the report.
