Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today welcomed the announcement of the elections for the Panjab University Senate.
Reacting to the announcement, Warring said, it was the victory of the students and the victory of democracy over the dictatorial and authoritarian BJP government at the centre, which wanted to do away with democratic body, the senate.
The PCC president hoped that the BJP will learn some lessons from this experience as they seem to have not learnt any lessons from the farmers’ agitation, that they cannot fiddle with the rights of the people of Punjab, be they the students, the farmers or the common Punjabis. “It will always come at a cost”, he warned.
