Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has expressed his desire to reunite with filmmaker Atlee, who directed his blockbuster film ‘Jawan’.
Responding to Atlee’s birthday wish shared on November 2, SRK wrote on his social media timeline, “Thank you my Jawan captain. Missing the madness of our sets. Let’s create some more soon. Love you. (sic)”
On Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, Atlee had posted, “Happy, happy, happy Birthday King Khan, SRK sir! The song ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’ is lovely. Can’t wait to see you on a big screen sir, looking forward for ‘KING’. (sic)”
Calling Shah Rukh his biggest inspiration, the filmmaker also thanked the actor for being his mentor, guide and well-wisher. Atlee said his time with SRK had taught him valuable lessons about cinema, life, people and humility.
‘Jawan’, which marked the first professional collaboration between Atlee and Shah Rukh, also featured Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover. The film emerged as a major box-office success and earned Shah Rukh Khan his first National Film Award for Best Actor.
Congratulating SRK on the award, Atlee had described working with the actor and making a film presenting him in a mass-oriented avatar as a blessing. He also expressed his gratitude and affection for the superstar.
Produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, ‘Jawan’ brought together a prominent ensemble cast.
