Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, while strongly criticizing the Central Government and the BJP over the continuous incidents of paper leaks across the country, said that this is not merely an administrative failure but an open betrayal of the future of the nation’s youth.
He stated that paper leak scandals have destroyed the future of young people across the country. He added that the Congress Party firmly stands with the youth and will not tolerate any injustice with their future.
He demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
He further demanded that all paper leak cases be investigated impartially under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Strict legal action should be taken against the guilty officials, middlemen, and organized paper leak mafias. Along with providing financial and mental support to the lakhs of affected candidates, a transparent and secure digital system should be implemented for recruitment examinations.
Congress General Secretary Randhawa said that since Dharmendra Pradhan became Education Minister, an estimated 70 to 80 incidents of paper leaks have surfaced across the country. These include major exam leaks such as NEET-UG 2021 in Jaipur, NEET-UG 2024 in Patna-Hazaribagh, NEET-PG 2024, NEET-UG 2026 in Sikar, UGC-NET 2024, CSIR-UGC-NET 2024, CUET UG and PG 2024–25, and JEE Mains 2025. In 2024 alone, 5 out of 14 major competitive examinations witnessed paper leaks. Over 1.2 crore students have reportedly been affected by these leaked papers over the years.
Despite years of hard work and preparation, young aspirants are facing disappointment, mental stress, and insecurity. He said it is extremely unfortunate that four youths have reportedly taken the extreme step of suicide, which is a serious reflection of the government’s insensitivity and failure.
He alleged that instead of taking strict action against the officials and individuals whose involvement surfaced in paper leak cases, they were protected and in several instances even promoted. This, he said, clearly indicates that corruption and paper leak mafias are enjoying political patronage.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Randhawa said that while the Bharatiya Janata Party government makes tall claims about providing employment to the youth, the reality is that recruitment processes have become victims of corruption and mismanagement. The hopes of lakhs of families are being shattered while the government remains a silent spectator.
