The Regional Passport Office in Jalandhar will hold a Passport Mela on October 29 at its office.
Regional Passport Officer Mr. Yashpal stated that the Passport Mela is being organized to assist applicants who returned to India on emergency certificates issued by Indian missions/embassies abroad or those who were deported. This is specifically for applicants who have applied for a passport before March 31, 2024, and whose applications are pending at the RPO Jalandhar office for various reasons.
He mentioned that the applicants are requested to visit the Regional Passport Office, located at SCO No. 42-51, Pocket 1, near Bus Stand, Jalandhar, between 9 am and 1 pm on October 29, with their relevant documents. This will be a walk-in event, requiring no prior appointment.
Additionally, regular offline and online inquiry services at the office will remain closed on this date. Other applicants are advised not to visit on October 29 and can visit on later dates as per their convenience.
The people are also advised to apply directly for passport services through the official Ministry of External Affairs portal, [www.passportindia.gov.in](http://www.passportindia.gov.in), besides avoiding any agents or intermediaries.
For any other questions or inquiries regarding passport applications, applicants may visit the office on any working day between 9 am and 12:30 pm.
