Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon has appointed senior party leaders as observers for the upcoming elections to the posts of Mayors in two Municipal Corporations and Presidents of four Municipal Councils in the state.
The appointments were announced through an official order issued by Punjab BJP State General Secretary Anil Sarin on Friday.
According to the orders issued, former Punjab BJP President and former MP Shwait Malik has been appointed observer for the Pathankot Municipal Corporation, while former Cabinet Minister Manpreet Badal has been named observer for the Abohar Municipal Corporation.
For the Municipal Council elections, the party has appointed:
- Fazilka: K.D. Bhandari, State Vice President and former MLA.
- Mansa: Surjit Jyani, State Vice President and former Punjab Cabinet Minister.
- Jagraon: Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, former Punjab Cabinet Minister.
- Naya Gaon: Vijay Sampla, former Punjab BJP President and former Union Minister.
The appointments are aimed at ensuring smooth conduct of the party’s organisational responsibilities during the elections for Mayors and Municipal Council Presidents. The observers will oversee the electoral process and coordinate with local party leadership in their respective jurisdictions.
The order was issued with the approval of Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon.
