The Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Professor (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, has made important administrative appointments to further strengthen the University’s academic and co-curricular activities.
Prof. (Dr.) Amandeep Singh of the Department of Physical Education has been appointed as In-charge of the Department of Youth Welfare. Prof. (Dr.) Yubee Gill, Head of the Department of English, has also been assigned the additional charge of Head of the Department of Foreign Languages.
On this occasion, the Registrar of the University, Prof. (Dr.) K. S. Chahal, was present along with Professor In-charge Public Relations Prof. (Dr.) Ravinder Kumar, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. (Dr.) Satnam Singh Deol, Prof. (Dr.) Balbir Singh, faculty members and staff.
Addressing the gathering, Professor (Dr.) K. S. Chahal said that assigning key responsibilities to competent and experienced faculty members strengthen both academic and co-curricular activities. He added that the Department of Youth Welfare plays a vital role in fostering leadership, creativity and social responsibility among students, while the Department of Foreign Languages creates valuable opportunities for students to acquire global language skills and broaden their international outlook.
After assuming their new responsibilities, Prof. Amandeep Singh and Prof. Yubee Gill expressed their gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) Karamjeet Singh, and the University administration for reposing confidence in them. They assured that they would discharge their responsibilities with dedication and commitment and work continuously for the growth and development of their respective departments.
