In a testament to the resounding success of one of the most significant game changer nutrition support initiatives, Meri Rasoi scheme, as many as 4.50 Lakh food kits have been distributed till now. The scheme providing such kits to 40 lakh poor families in the State.
Disclosing this here today during a meeting, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak also said each kit contains two kilograms of lentils, two kilograms of sugar, one kilogram of salt, 200 grams of turmeric powder and one litre of mustard oil for monthly consumption.
These food kits will be provided in addition to the wheat already being distributed to eligible beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act.
Not only this, but 50,000 such food kits are being distributed on daily basis to the eligible beneficiaries, added the Minister.
During the meeting, the Minister also lauded the Department for ensuring the success of the just concluded Wheat Procurement Season and credited the robust infrastructural set up in the mandis for this stupendous success.
The Minister also exhorted the officers of the Department to begin preparations in the right earnest now itself for the forthcoming Paddy procurement season with a view to repeat the success of Wheat procurement season.
Among others present on the occasion included the Principal Secretary Rahul Tiwari, Additional Secretary Kamal Kumar Garg, Additional Directors Dr. Anjuman Bhaskar and Ajayveer Singh Sarao, & GM (Finance) Sarvesh Kumar.
