The Panjab University Women’s Gatka Team delivered an outstanding performance at the All India Inter-University Gatka Championship 2026, held in University of Kota, Rajasthan from 21st to 23rd April 2026.
Competing against 16 universities from across the country, the team proudly secured the 1st Runner-Up Trophy, marking a significant achievement for the university.
The team showcased exceptional skill and determination across multiple events, earning top honors in the competition. The medal winners are as follows:

Dr. Rakesh Malik, Director Sports, Panjab University, Chandigarh, congratulated the players and coaching staff for their remarkable achievement. The team was guided by Coach Inderjeet Singh, whose leadership played a vital role in the team’s success.
Simranjit Singh, Secretary of Chandigarh Gatka Association, was also present on the occasion and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the players and coaching staff for bringing laurels to the institution.
