Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Baljinder Singh Dhillon today held a meeting with transporters and office staff present in the office regarding traffic challans, as per the directions of the State Transport Commissioner.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the payment of pending traffic challans lying with the department and instructions were issued to create awareness among the general public for depositing these challans.
The Secretary, Regional Transport Authority said that if traffic challans are not paid, the vehicles will be blacklisted on the departmental portal and once blacklisted, no kind of facility related to the vehicle can be availed from the Transport Department.
Appealing to the general public, he said that vehicle owners should deposit the due amount of their challans on time at the office of the Secretary, Regional Transport Authority or at the RTO office, Jalandhar.
He further stated that if the challan amount is not deposited, the concerned vehicles will be blacklisted.
