The Department of General Surgery, AIMS Mohali, organized a highly impactful two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program titled “The Final Stitch” from 13th to 14th September 2025. The event brought together over 250 delegates from Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana, comprising undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MS Surgery) students, who actively participated with great enthusiasm.
The CME was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Bhavneet Bharti, Director Principal, AIMS Mohali, who, in her welcome address, applauded the Department of Surgery for hosting an academic program that uniquely blended structured case-based discussions with examiner perspectives. She emphasized that such platforms are invaluable in preparing students for examinations as well as real-world surgical practice, by boosting their confidence, sharpening clinical reasoning, and aligning them with patient-centered care.
The academic proceedings were graced by a galaxy of distinguished surgical experts and examiners of national eminence, including Dr. Pawanindra Lal (Former HOD, MAMC New Delhi),
Dr. A.K. Attri (Former Director Principal, GMCH-32), Dr. Rajeev Kapoor, Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Dr. Darshanjit Singh Walia, Dr. Parvez David Haque, Dr. Amit Mahajan, Dr. Laxmi Agnihotri, and

Over two days, the CME offered a comprehensive academic experience in
Clinical surgical case presentations on core examination topics, Expert lectures
Poster presentations (PG students),
A lively surgical quiz (MBBS students) and Hybrid participation for remote learners.
Students described the experience as a rare opportunity to present before examiners, receive direct feedback, and observe multiple approaches to clinical examination and reasoning.
