Ludhiana, July 4, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
To celebrate the reappointment of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring as Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief, former District Congress Committee, Ludhiana (Urban) president and ex Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, Pawan Dewan, along with his supporters, distributed ladoos, here today.
In a statement issued later, Dewan said the entire Punjab Congress leadership, as well as the party’s rank and file, is in a jubilant mood over the AICC’s decision to retain Warring as state Congress president.
Dewan, a prominent Congress face, further said that Warring, at just 47, has infused fresh energy into the party. “The Congress stands firmly behind him for his tireless efforts in rebuilding the state unit. Over the past four years as president, Warring has steered the PPCC with remarkable skill, taking everyone along. He is competent, energetic and clear minded, with a disciplined approach in implementing every directive issued by the AICC,” he added.
Dewan further noted that Warring has secured three consecutive victories from Gidderbaha, a traditional stronghold of the Badals. “When the party high command asked him to contest the Lok Sabha election from Ludhiana in 2024, Warring did not waste a moment in accepting the AICC’s directive. More importantly, he proved his mettle by coming to Ludhiana and defeating three time MP Ravneet Singh Bittu,” he asserted.
Dewan also said that Warring has always been a loyal soldier of the Congress — from his days in the Indian Youth Congress to serving as Ludhiana MP and as PPCC chief. He credited Warring with rebuilding the state unit, taking every leader along and never shying away from responsibility.
He added that Warring organized successful rallies across Punjab on MGNREGA, attended by Punjab Congress affairs in charge and former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel. “Besides, Warring hosted Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s mammoth rally in Barnala on February 28, which was a resounding success and earned recognition from the top brass of the national Congress,” he observed.
Dewan categorically stated that the “real Congressmen” as well as the youth of Punjab stand firmly with Warring. He added, “Besides raising the voice of people from all sections against the ruling AAP, Warring worked tirelessly to ensure the Congress is positioned to form government in Punjab in 2027.” Dewan declared that it is now the writing on the wall — under Warring’s stewardship, Punjab Congress is all set to form the next government.
