Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria today released the book “Atal Sansmaran” at Punjab Lok Bhawan. The book has been authored by senior journalist Shri Ashok Tandon during the birth centenary year celebrations of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor described Atal Ji as a visionary statesman, an exemplary parliamentarian and a true nationalist who dedicated his entire life to the service of Mother India. He said that Atal Ji always placed “Nation First” above political interests, personal ambitions and positions of power.
Shri Kataria said that Atal Ji possessed a rare ability to connect with people through his powerful speeches and inspiring poetry from a very young age.
He remarked that Atal Ji’s words had the power to deeply influence listeners and unite people across ideological lines. Recalling Atal Ji’s immense devotion to the nation, the Governor noted that even the then opposition leadership had recognised his patriotism and oratory skills by sending him to represent India at the United Nations in 1977.
Shri Kataria said that whether it was the Pokhran nuclear tests, strengthening India’s infrastructure, promoting scientific advancement, or safeguarding national security during the Kargil War, every major decision taken by Atal Ji reflected his unwavering commitment towards national interest and self-reliant India.
Paying rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, Shri Kataria said that Atal Ji’s thoughts, ideals and democratic values would continue to guide the nation and inspire the youth towards nationalism, integrity and public service.
Senior journalist Shri Ashok Tandon, author of the book “Atal Sansmaran”, described the publication as a heartfelt tribute to Atal Ji and shared several memorable experiences associated with him. Justice (Retd.) Shabihul Hasnain remarked that Atal Ji’s personality embodied both nationalism and humanitarian values, which were also deeply reflected in his poetry.
Additional Solicitor General of India Shri Satya Pal Jain described Atal Ji as a statesman who always stood firmly by his words and remained committed to nation-building. Former Chief of Army Staff General Ved Prakash Malik recalled that Atal Ji strongly believed in consultation, dialogue and consensus while taking important decisions.
Also present on the occasion were Member of Parliament Shri Atul Garg, along with admirers and followers of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji.
