Amritsar, Nov 11, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla today while addressing a press conference on a very serious issue informed that 200 teachers of Amritsar are still posted on election duty and have not gone to classes for months. There should be a quick investigation into this matter as to why those teachers are absent from schools.
If they are doing election duty then it is the incompetence of the government and administration that the future of children is being played with. He has also given written information to CM Mann in this regard.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla told that out of 1245 teachers of Amritsar and rural areas, 200 teachers have been absent from classes for months. On asking the reason, it was found that they are busy in election duty.
MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that CM Bhagwant Mann had announced that he would not engage teachers in any non-teaching work but now teachers, especially computer teachers, are being made to do all the work other than teaching.
After the elections in the month of June, now a lot of time has passed since the Panchayat elections but the teachers have still not been able to reach the classrooms. Due to which the children are suffering a lot. The examinations are on the head in March and the teachers have not yet completed the syllabus.
MP Aujla said that due to the incomplete course material and the absence of teachers, the overall educational development of these students is at stake.
He has demanded CM Bhagwant Mann, Education Minister Harjot Bains to intervene in this matter with immediate effect. He said that this is a serious issue and a question of the future of the country because children are the golden dream of the coming future.
He said that if the Punjab government needs work for the elections, then separate staff should be kept for that because absence for a few days is justified but teachers leaving the class for a long time is keeping the children away from studies.
That is why they should also investigate the absence of these teachers and if these teachers are on election duty, then they should be sent back to schools as soon as possible.
MP Aujla also said during this time that the funds of the teachers who go to teach in villages far away from their homes should be increased so that they can happily shape the future of the children.
During the press conference, MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla also gave information about the meeting held with the Airport Authority this morning. He said that he holds a review meeting every month at Amritsar Airport and takes information about the facilities and problems. He said that soon new cargo for perishable goods will be handed over to the people at Amritsar Airport, while many new flights will also start soon.
He appealed to farmers and traders to use Amritsar airport and export their vegetables and other things to other countries from here. He also appealed to the people to use Amritsar International Airport because excellent facilities have been provided here for economy class as well and special care is taken of the passengers.
