Sonam Kapoor’s father-in-law, Harish Ahuja, has made a significant real estate purchase in London’s prestigious Notting Hill area.
According to a report from Bloomberg, the property, worth £21 million (around Rs 231.47 crore), will also be home to Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja after its redevelopment.
One of the Year’s Biggest UK Residential Deals
Harish Ahuja, who runs a thriving apparel empire, bought the eight-storey property in what is being called one of the biggest residential deals in the UK this year. Despite a slowdown in luxury real estate sales, this £21 million transaction has defied the trend. The 20,000-square-foot home is located just a short walk from Kensington Gardens, adding to its prime value. Previously owned by a UK-registered charity and religious order, the property was purchased by Ahuja in July last year. Once redeveloped, part of the building will be converted into flats, while another section will serve as the Ahuja family’s residence.

Since marrying Anand Ahuja in 2018, Sonam Kapoor has been dividing her time between London and Mumbai. Sonam frequently posts pictures of their current home in Notting Hill, as well as their grand family home in Delhi and their luxury apartment in Mumbai.
In a 2021 interview with *Architectural Digest*, Sonam revealed her initial hesitation about moving from her beloved Notting Hill home to Mumbai. However, as she gears up for her return to the big screen, she is spending more time in India. The actress said, “This is a sanctuary for us and for those we love. It’s not large, but it makes an impact.” She added that she took the lead in designing their home, which features solid-wood flooring and precious rugs that tie the rooms together. “Being barefoot is a joy here,” she noted.
