In a significant step towards strengthening the MSME ecosystem, an Inter-State Industrial Exposure Visit was successfully conducted under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Initiative—a flagship program of the Government of India, supported by the World Bank.
The program was implemented by MGSIPA, Government of Punjab, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce, Punjab, NIPER, and District Industry Centre SAS Nagar. The initiative brought together MSMEs from district , offering them valuable on-ground exposure to advanced industrial practices.
As part of the visit, participants toured CRIUS Life Sciences Private Limited, Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing unit, where they gained first-hand insights into modern production systems, stringent quality protocols, and global regulatory standards.
The interaction enabled MSMEs to better understand innovation-driven processes and operational excellence in the pharmaceutical sector.
The RAMP initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness, productivity, and scalability of MSMEs by bridging critical gaps in knowledge, technology adoption, and market linkages. Exposure visits such as these serve as a powerful platform for experiential learning, peer exchange, and industry connect.
Backed by the Government of India and supported by the World Bank, RAMP is playing a transformative role in enabling MSMEs to evolve into globally competitive enterprises, contributing meaningfully to economic growth and employment generation.
From DIC SAS Nagar, Maninder Singh, General Manager, and Ms. Kanwarpreet Kaur, Functional Manager, played a key role in managing and coordinating the sector-specific inter-state exposure visit, ensuring smooth execution and active participation of MSMEs.
The successful execution of the visit reflects the strong commitment of all partner institutions towards fostering a robust and future-ready MSME ecosystem in Punjab.
The exposure visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Sanjeev Chaddha, Professor and Head, MGSIPA. The MGSIPA team present during the visit included Dr. Manjulla Verma, Training Associate; Er. Navsudeep Kaur, Senior Consultant, PIU; and Mr. Sanket Jain, Research Associate, MGSIPA, who facilitated coordination and interaction with participating MSMEs.
