Dr. Poonam Aggarwal Sachdev, Principal Food Technologist and former Head of the Department of Food Science and Technology at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been honoured with the “Prof Jiwan Singh Sidhu Award” for Best Professor for 2023 by the Association of Food Scientists & Technologists (India).
With over 33 years of service at PAU, Dr. Sachdev is celebrated for her exceptional contributions to teaching, research, and mentoring in food science. During her tenure, she laid a strong foundation by securing multiple externally funded research projects, establishing key business incubators, and achieving remarkable milestones, including three registered patents and over 300 research and extension publications.
