In a heart-warming gesture of solidarity and care, Sh. Nirbhow Singh Gill, Ld. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Jalandhar, visited Unique Home, Jalandhar, to participate in the collective birthday celebrations of the children residing at the institution.
Accompanied by Sh. Rahul Kumar Azad, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA Jalandhar, the visit was aimed at bringing joy to the children and ensuring their welfare under the umbrella of legal and social protection.
The visit was marked by a vibrant celebration where Sh. Nirbhow Singh Gill and Sh. Rahul Kumar Azad interacted closely with the children. The judicial officers joined the youngsters in cutting a ceremonial cake, marking the symbolic birthday of all residents who may not know their exact dates of birth.
“Children are the backbone of our future society. It is our collective moral and legal duty to ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, feels valued, loved, and protected,” stated Sh. Nirbhow Singh Gill during the event. The Ld. District & Sessions Judge reviewed the living conditions, nutrition, and educational facilities provided to the children at Unique Home.
Sh. Rahul Kumar Azad discussed the various schemes available under the Legal Services Authorities Act, emphasizing that the DLSA is committed to providing free legal aid and ensuring the rights of children in care homes are upheld.
The judicial officers held a brief meeting with the management of Unique Home to address any grievances or requirements that might necessitate judicial or administrative intervention.
The administration of Unique Home expressed deep gratitude to the judicial officers for taking time out of their demanding schedules. Such visits reinforce the bridge between the judiciary and the most vulnerable sections of society. Sh. Jagan Nath, Senior Assistant, District Legal Services Authority, Jalandhar was also present.
