Young pan-India star Raashii Khanna recently attended an event where she discussed about her upcoming film, ‘The Sabarmati Report’. During the conversation, she opened up about her experience and the motivation behind choosing this project.
When asked why she chose this film, Raashii explained, “Me as a person is different from me as an actor. And when I get an opportunity like that to showcase the truth, which has shaped our history in some way or the other, I will be right in the forefront.”
She elaborated on the difficult decision to take on the role, saying, “I got my facts right. It wasn’t an easy decision, and I wanted to divulge into it. I wanted to understand what happened and become a part of something so special as Sabarmati is. You will see what I stand for from the films that I do.”
Raashii, who portrays a journalist in the film, shared insights about its message and what audiences can expect from the trailer, “There are a lot of things that would probably also be revealed in the trailer.” Further she said, “We do have social responsibilities as an actor, and I cannot just play something where I know it’s going to have effect on people who are going to be watching it.
Of course, we were aware of that, and it is why I think our team also took a special effort. They have worked for years to come out with something that showcases the truth. And that’s what attracted me to the film, otherwise I would have never done it.” With the teaser recently released, audiences are eager to see what the film has to offer.
‘The Sabarmati Report’ stars Raashii Khanna along with Vikrant Massey. In the film, Raashii plays a journalist on a mission to uncover the truth behind the Sabarmati Express incident. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film explores the tragic events of February 27, 2002, near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat.
It is set to hit theatres on November 15, 2024. In addition to ‘The Sabarmati Report’, Raashii Khanna is set to reunite with Vikrant Massey in yet another film titled ‘Talakhon Mein Ek’, which will be released soon. She also has a Telugu film, ‘Telusu Kada’, in the pipeline.
