Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal has urged urban residents of the district to clear their pending property tax dues by August 15, 2025, to avail the benefit of waiver on penalty and interest on the principal amount.
Sharing details of the collections made so far, DC Mittal informed that the district’s urban local bodies have collected Rs 22.20 crore in property tax dues since July 1. She added that the rebate window is still open, and residents should take advantage of this opportunity to clear their dues without incurring any additional fine or interest.
Providing a breakup of collections by local bodies, she said that Zirakpur Municipal Council has topped the list with a collection of Rs 13.77 crore, followed by Kharar with Rs 3.81 crore, Derabassi at Rs 2.27 crore, Lalru with Rs 84.54 lakh, Kurali at Rs 56.4 lakh, Naya Gaon with Rs 53.41 lakh, and Banur collecting Rs 38.47 lakh.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to residents to come forward and clear their dues before the deadline to avoid additional charges. She also informed that local body offices will remain open on weekends to facilitate the residents to clear dues during this period.
