Your demands, Dimpy Dhillon’s Letters and my Signatures – Gidderbaha will thrive: CM Mann

Chandigarh/Gidderbaha, Nov 7, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

CM Bhagwant Mann, in another high-energy campaign day in Gidderbaha, ripped into his opponents, stating that those born with silver spoons can never understand the struggles of the common people.

Mann addressed four major rallies on Thursday across Gurusar, Kotbhai, Kauni, and Gidderbaha city. He was accompanied by AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, Ministers Aman Arora and Barinder Goyal, MLA Devinder Singh Laddi Dhos, Sukhjinder Singh Kauni, and several other AAP office bearers.

Addressing the people in Gurusar CM Mann said that the people have all the power in democracy. the power of democracy. “We are here because of you not the other way around, but the leaders of Congress and BJP are arrogant, they think they are bigger than people, you taught them a lesson in 2022,” said Mann.

He further explained that the public is well aware of who is in politics for personal gain and who genuinely cares about their welfare. He thanked the people for their unwavering support, highlighting the contrast between AAP and other parties. “I am showered with flowers and blessings from the people, whereas Congress and BJP can’t even gather a crowd for their rallies. The BJP hires people to chant ‘Modi Modi’ at their events because otherwise, no one shows up,” Mann said.

Mann also took a swipe at Raja Warring’s election campaign theatrics, saying that it’s time to permanently shift his ‘manjhi’ (seat) to the mandi (market), saying that these leaders only reach out to the public when elections are around the corner. “They are born with silver spoons, unaware of the struggles of common people,” Mann added.

The CM also took a dig at BJP candidate and former finance minister Manpreet Badal, accusing him of being disconnected from the people and their issues. “He never understood the struggles of common people. As finance minister, he kept saying the exchequer is empty. That’s why people started calling him ‘Khali Peepa Mantri’ (the empty bag minister),” said Mann. “Governments don’t lack funds; traditional politicians lack the will to work for the people,” he added.

Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party talks about employment, electricity, schools and hospitals. These are the matters that concern common people. “You trusted us and gave us 92 seats in the assembly elections, we are living up to your expectations and we have fulfilled most of our major election promises,” he said.

Mann also reflected on his personal journey, quipping about how, as an artist, he used to charge fees to perform at village events and tournaments. “Now, whenever I visit a village or city in Punjab, I bring funds to give back to the people. This is the power and responsibility given to me by the people. I’m here to serve, not to make money. I left a successful career as a comedian to serve Punjab and its people,” he explained.

He pointed out the difference between his party and traditional politicians. “The leaders of Congress and BJP only focus on accumulating wealth and properties. They treat politics as a business, passing on their positions to their wives, nephews, and sons. In contrast, out of 92 AAP MLAs, 82 are first-time legislators, showing that AAP is a party for the common people,” said Mann.

Mann also spoke about the symbolic power of AAP’s election symbol, the broom (jharoo). He highlighted its special resonance with women, saying, “Mothers and sisters don’t need much explanation. They know exactly what’s right for their families and communities.” He added that the broom symbolizes cleanliness, both literally and in the political sense.

Mann urged the public to avoid leaders and parties that distribute liquor during elections and said such politicians disappear once elected. “Don’t fall for their tricks. Vote for your children, for the politics of work and development,” he said.

On Nov 20th, the people of Gidderbaha will shatter the arrogance of dynast politicians: Mann

In his Kotbhai rally, CM Bhagwant Mann reiterated that political power belongs to the people, not the leaders. He said that the public’s vote is earned, not taken for granted. “Leaders like Badal and Raja Warring have become arrogant. But come 20th, their arrogance will be shattered,” said Mann. He criticized the manipulation of vulnerable citizens, recalling how elderly citizens were wrongfully implicated in police cases under previous administrations.

Mann said that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, mentioning how 157 students from government schools had cleared the IIT entrance exam. “When children get an education, it lifts entire families out of poverty,” Mann said, reaffirming his commitment to creating more opportunities for youth through the government’s employment schemes.

During his address in Kauni and Gidderbaha city, Mann said that they (Congress, BJP and Akali Dal) were playing a ‘friendly match’ in Punjab for many decades but then the Aam Aadmi Party entered politics.

Mann said that he gave 45,000 government jobs and showed the list of the people of Kauni who got government jobs. In the AAP government: free electricity to 90% of households, uninterrupted and timely electricity to farmers, bought a thermal plant, one MLA one pension, no corruption and no fake political cases.

Referring to the traditional political class, Mann compared them to “growing in a pot,” criticizing leaders like Raja Warring and Manpreet Badal for their lack of rootedness with the people. He firmly stated that these leaders, who hop between constituencies and parties, fail to truly understand or serve the public’s needs. Mann said that he has the files on everyone, no one will be spared who looted even a rupee of Punjab.

Mann said that Manpreet Badal doesn’t even talk in the language of Punjab’s people, or the issues of Punjab. Narrating a story Mann told people that once the media was asking Manpreet Badal about when Jagdish Bhola named Bikram Majithia in the drug case, Manpreet Badal kept talking about the revolution of France and war in Palestine. He said that the next day no newspaper published his news because he wasn’t talking about Punjab or our issues.

Mann also praised the people of Gidderbaha for their resilience and determination. “The people of Gidderbaha have always written a new chapter in the state’s history. This time too, you will write a fresh story, rejecting the corrupt and selfish forces,” he said.

Mann appealed to the people of Gidderbaha to reject those who have betrayed the constituency time and again. He urged them to vote for Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, who, despite losing the assembly elections twice, remains deeply connected with the people of Gidderbaha. “Dimpy knows the people of Gidderbaha by their names. He understands your issues, and he is committed to solving them,” Mann stated.

He promised that all works and applications related to Gidderbaha’s development would receive his full attention. “Your demands, Dimpy’s letters, and my signature — Gidderbaha will thrive,” said CM Mann.

CM Mann praises Gurusar’s de-addiction committee and Animal Food Plant

In his speech, CM Bhagwant Mann praised the initiatives taken by the local community, specifically highlighting the efforts of the 70-member De-addiction Committee in Gurusar. He shared that these young volunteers, dedicated to the cause of de-addiction, are actively working to keep the village free from substance abuse.

“These 70 young men from the village are playing a crucial role in protecting their community from the menace of drugs. This is a commendable initiative, and if they ever need support from the government, we are ready to assist,” Mann said, acknowledging the positive impact of the committee’s work.

CM Bhagwant Mann also spoke about the Gurusar Animal Food Factory, a vital initiative that is not only providing feed to the livestock but also playing a crucial role in addressing the issue of stubble management.

The factory processes crop residue and converts it into nutritious animal feed, providing farmers with an alternative to burning stubble. He praised the thinking of the villagers, noting that such grassroots initiatives are crucial in tackling the many environmental issues. This project is a great example of how the community can come together to find sustainable solutions for both economic and environmental challenges.

BJP’s Mandal Pradhan in Gidderbaha, Harpal Singh Kotli, joins AAP

During the rally in Gurusar, BJP’s Mandal Pradhan Harpal Singh Kotli officially joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), bringing many of his supporters along. Kotli, who was in-charge for 12 villages for the BJP in the Gidderbaha constituency, announced his shift to AAP to show support for AAP candidate Dimpy Dhillon in the upcoming by-polls. His decision to join AAP will significantly strengthen the party’s position in Gidderbaha, marking a major setback for both the BJP and Manpreet Badal’s election campaign.

This by-election is an opportunity to be part of the government, CM Mann didn’t give ticket to me, it’s a ticket for all of you (people): Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon

You gave 16 years to Manpreet Badal, 13 years to Raja Warring, give me just 2 years, I’ll work more for you in 2 years than their 29 years: Dimpy Dhillon

Addressing the people at rallies, AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon said that this by-election is an opportunity for the people of Gidderbaha to be part of the AAP government. He said that CM Bhagwant Mann didn’t give him a ticket but it is a ticket for all the people of Gidderbaha. He said that because of their support he was honoured with this responsibility.

Dimpy launched a scathing attack on Raja Warring and Manpreet Badal. He criticised them for getting elected multiple times from Gidderbaha and still doing nothing for the people and this constituency.

Dimpy Dhillon said that Raja Warring was elected thrice from Gidderbaha, he is PPCC president, he was president of All India Youth Congress, he was also cabinet minister in Congress government in Punjab and yet he did nothing for Gidderbaha and the people. At first opportunity he abandoned the constituency and he doesn’t even live in Gidderbaha.

Attacking Manpreet Badal, Dimpy Dhillon said that he is a 5-time MLA. He was elected four times from Gidderbaha. He was finance minister twice and what did he do for the people of Gidderbaha, he also abandoned this constituency.

Dhillon said, “you gave 16 years to Manpreet Singh Badal. Then you gave 13 years to Raja Warring. But they did nothing for you. They don’t even live in Gidderbaha to meet and know the issues of the people of Gidderbaha. They have abandoned you time and again. Give me just two years. I’ll work more for you and Gidderbaha Constituency in two years than Badal and Warring did in 29 years.”
