Threats to IAS and IPS Officers: Pawan Kalyan Warns YSRCP Leaders

Guntur, November 11, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Forests and Environment, K Pawan Kalyan, issued a stern warning on Sunday to YSRCP leaders, indicating that the State government would file suo motu cases against any leaders who threaten IAS and IPS officers. This warning comes in response to recent comments made by YSRCP President and former Chief Minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, targeting the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Tirupati Superintendent of Police (SP), Subbarayudu.

Speaking to the media after paying tribute to forest department martyrs at Aranya Bhavan, Kalyan criticized Jagan’s comments as an attempt to intimidate top police officials and declared that the current government is dedicated to protecting public servants. “The YSRCP chief’s threats against DGP and SP Subbarayudu are unacceptable, and any similar incidents in the future will be dealt with strictly by filing cases,” said Kalyan.

During the event, Kalyan honored the 23 forest department personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, emphasizing the government’s commitment to forest protection and employee welfare. He assured forest officials of his full support and pledged to raise Rs. 5 crore in donations from various sectors to support the department’s efforts. Kalyan also proposed the establishment of commemorative pylons to honor the fallen forest martyrs.

In addition to pledging support for forest conservation, the Deputy CM reaffirmed the coalition government’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of women in the State. Addressing concerns for political safety, Kalyan mentioned that the NDA government would provide protection to PCC President Y S Sharmila if she seeks it.

The Deputy CM concluded by reiterating that the State government would not tolerate any attempts to intimidate public servants, underscoring the administration’s commitment to upholding the dignity and independence of its officers.
