Chandigarh, July 9, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Former Deputy Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that the Punjab Congress is completely united and that all senior party leaders will collectively meet the party high command. He said that no leader will present their views individually; instead, everyone will speak together and also listen to the views of the high command.
Randhawa said that Congress is a democratic party. If there are differences of opinion on any issue within the party, they will be resolved through mutual dialogue. He stated that, unlike the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Congress is not run in an authoritarian manner, and every leader has the full right to express their views.
He said that under the party’s organizational process, meetings will not only be held with Bhupesh Baghel but also with K.C. Venugopal, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. If necessary, they will also travel to Delhi. All leaders will remain united while presenting issues concerning the Punjab Congress before the high command and will decide the future course of action based on its guidance.
Randhawa said that the Congress party’s primary objective is to strengthen the organization in Punjab and secure victory in the upcoming elections. He said that differences of opinion can exist in any democratic party, but Congress’s real political contest is against the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party. He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party has ruined Punjab and that working to save the state is the party’s foremost priority and biggest challenge.
Expressing concern over the current situation in Punjab, Randhawa said that the law and order situation in the state is alarming. He alleged that the FBI’s action and the Punjab Police’s handling of issues related to gangsters and extortion have damaged Punjab’s image both nationally and internationally. He claimed that the police have brought disrepute to Punjab across the world. He added that the Congress party will raise all these issues seriously and that all internal matters within the party will be resolved through consensus.
