Ms Sudeshna Thakur, working in the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has enshrined the glory of elite institution, PAU, by visiting the Oregon State University, USA from July 3 to September 2 as Visiting Scholar (Postdoctoral).
Her postdoctoral programme was fully funded by Dr Man-yeon Choi, Research Entomologist. She worked in the areas of insect molecular physiology to identify biological targets and their functional expression. Under excellent work culture environment, she was offered best of research facilities and gained expertise in cutting edge technologies.
Dr Thakur, after completing her Ph.D. programme from PAU, got an independent research project under the BioCARE scheme sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi under the mentorship of Dr Vikas Jindal. Dr Jindal said that her experience during her visit will be very useful in her current research project at PAU.
