Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, along with Dr. Gaurav Dhiman, Assistant Professor, released the book titled “Artificial Intelligence and Indian Legal System” during a special function organized at the university campus.
The book highlights the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in the Indian legal and judicial ecosystem and discusses emerging opportunities, challenges, ethical concerns, legal analytics, digital governance, and the future of AI-enabled justice delivery systems in India.
The publication is expected to serve as a valuable resource for students, researchers, academicians, legal practitioners, and policymakers interested in the intersection of law and advanced technologies. Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research and the integration of emerging technologies into legal education.
He stated that Artificial Intelligence is transforming the functioning of institutions across sectors, including the legal domain, and such scholarly contributions are essential for preparing future professionals for a technology-driven world.
Dr. Gaurav Dhiman remarked that the book aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the application of Artificial Intelligence in the legal system and to stimulate further research in this rapidly evolving field.
On this occasion, Prof. Baljit Singh Khehra, Registrar, and Dr. Kuldeep Walia, Director, Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA), were also present and congratulated the authors on the publication of the book. They appreciated the initiative and expressed confidence that the book would contribute significantly to academic research and knowledge dissemination in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and legal studies.
