Amritsar Court Grants Bail to Akali Leader Bikram Majithia in Majitha Police Station Case

Amritsar, June 15, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Punjab Cabinet Minister Bikram Singh Majithia received significant legal relief on Monday after a court in Amritsar granted him bail in a case registered in connection with an incident at the Majitha Police Station. His two associates Jodh Singh Samra and Jatinder Pal Singh have also got same relief.

The case pertains to allegations that Majithia, accompanied by a group of supporters, entered the police station in an attempt to secure the release of his associate, Jobanpreet Singh, who was reportedly being held there.

According to the FIR, the incident occurred when Majithia and his supporters arrived at the Majitha Police Station and allegedly searched various sections of the premises looking for Jobanpreet Singh. They eventually located him in the office of the Station House Officer (SHO).

The episode subsequently became the subject of political and legal controversy, with videos of the incident circulating widely. The proceedings inside the police station were reportedly recorded both by Majithia’s supporters and police personnel present at the scene.

Following the incident, FIR No. 91 was registered at Majitha Police Station against Majithia and several others. The case was lodged a day after the alleged police station entry and confrontation.

After the registration of the FIR, Majithia remained out of public view, prompting speculation about his whereabouts. Police teams reportedly conducted searches and raids at multiple locations in an effort to apprehend him. However, despite these efforts, law enforcement agencies were unable to trace the senior Akali leader.

The bail granted by the Amritsar court is being viewed as an important development in the case and provides temporary legal relief to Majithia, who continues to face proceedings arising out of the FIR.

Further legal proceedings in the case are expected to continue in accordance with the judicial process.
