Delhi Police on Monday rejected allegations circulating on social media that Geetanjali Angmo, wife of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, was assaulted or had her hair pulled by police personnel during the ongoing protest.
In an official statement, the police described the claims as “completely false and misleading”, asserting that no such incident had taken place.
Delhi Police said reports alleging that Angmo was physically assaulted or specifically targeted by police personnel were baseless and did not reflect the actual events.
“No individuals were subjected to targeted assault, and claims suggesting malicious force or personal targeting are entirely baseless,” the statement said.
The clarification came in response to social media posts alleging that Angmo was manhandled during the protest linked to Wangchuk’s ongoing agitation.
