In a significant step towards strengthening higher education and academic collaboration, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGNDPSOU), Patiala, Punjab’s first government open university established by the Punjab Government, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU), Fatehgarh Sahib.
The academic partnership has been initiated under the leadership and vision of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University.
The primary objective of the MoU is to promote academic cooperation between the two universities and create opportunities for joint initiatives in higher education.
Under the agreement, both institutions have agreed to collaborate in academic activities, faculty exchange programmes, research projects and other areas of mutual academic interest. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge sharing, strengthen institutional capabilities and promote excellence in teaching and research.
The Memorandum of Understanding was formally signed in the presence of the Vice-Chancellors of both universities—Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Singh of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University and Prof. (Dr.) Pritpal Singh of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University.
The event was also attended by Dr. Kuldeep Walia, Director, Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA), Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, along with senior faculty members and officials from Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University.
Both institutions expressed confidence that the collaboration would pave the way for meaningful academic partnerships, encourage innovation and research, and contribute significantly to the advancement of higher education in Punjab.
