The Election Commission of India has today issued a letter regarding a partial amendment to the previously announced programme for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for the state of Punjab.
Providing information in this regard, Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, Smt. Anindita Mitra, stated that the draft electoral rolls in Punjab will now be published on 03 August 2026.
She informed that similarly, the period for filing claims and objections regarding the electoral rolls is now 03-08-2026 to 02-09-2026,The notice phase/disposal of claims and objections will be done from 03-08-2026 to 28-09-2026.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that the the rest of the schedule continues to be the same as per notification issued on 14th May 2026.
