MRSPTU’s Prof Dr. Ashish Baldi Receives Prestigious APTI Pharmacy Teacher of Eminence Award

In a remarkable acknowledgment of his contributions to pharmacy education and research, Professor Ashish Baldi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Director of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), has been honored with the prestigious APTI Pharmacy Teacher of Eminence Award.

This esteemed accolade, including a memento, citation, and cash prize, was presented by Dr. Montu Patel, President of the Pharmacy Council of India, at the 27th Annual National Convention of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTICON-2024) at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The event, themed “Beyond the Counter: Transforming Pharmacy Education for Industry and Patient Impact,” brought together over 3,000 participants, including policymakers, educators, and students from across India. Notable attendees included Dr. Milind Umekar, President of APTI; Dr. Deependra Singh, Chairman of the Education Regulation Committee; and various APTI Vice Presidents.

An internationally recognized scientist and educator, Dr. Baldi has made significant contributions to the field of pharmacy. Honored with the National Award to Teachers by the President of India and recognized among the “Top 2% Best Scientists in the World” by Stanford University and Elsevier, Dr. Baldi’s commitment to academic excellence and innovative teaching is exemplary.

His work includes over 145 research publications, authorship of 12 books, and completion of 15 government-funded research projects. Dr. Baldi is also known for pioneering student-centered learning approaches, such as feedback-based metacognition, and for fostering industry-academia collaborations.

The APTI’s selection process reviewed nominees from across the nation, assessing their contributions to academia, teaching innovations, and professional development initiatives. Dr. Baldi emerged as a leading candidate, celebrated for his passion for pharmacy education and his commitment to leveraging research for social impact.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Sandeep Kansal, Registrar Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, Head of Department Dr. Amit Bhatia, as well as colleagues and students, extended their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Baldi on this prestigious achievement.
