2014 Batch IAS officer, Mrs Komal Mittal assumed office as Deputy Commissioner Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, today. She has replaced Mrs Aashika Jain, a 2015 batch IAS officer, who has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur.
Mrs Komal Mittal who has earlier headed Hoshiarpur as Deputy Commissioner before joining SAS Nagar, had been ADC (G) and ADC (UD) at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Additional Secretary, Food and Civil supplies Punjab, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amritsar and SDM Mukerian.
Listing her priorities, she said that it would be her primacy to implement the flagship programmes of Punjab Government in the district besides spearheading a campaign against drug abuse.
Deputy Commissioner said that transparency in governance, to continue fight against corruption as per the commitment of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and timely delivery of citizen centric services would also be ensured to minimise the public grievances.
She said that keeping in view the growing urbanisation in district SAS Nagar and particularly in Mohali, planned development would be ensured and action should be taken against illegal constructions and encroachments.
The Deputy Commissioner said that to safeguard the interests of district residents against the illegal immigration, soon a meeting will be held with travel agents and the people would be made aware about the registered trave agents working in the district. Before taking charge of the office, she was presented a guard of honour by the District Police.
She was welcomed by ADC (Urban Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, ADC (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, SDM Kharar Gurmander Singh, Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr Ankita Kansal, Extra Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Gurmit Singh and DDPO Baljinder Singh Grewal and Staff of DC Office.
