Chandigarh, Nov 25 2024 (Yes Punjab News)
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab today expressed its gratitude to the people of Punjab for their overwhelming support in the recent by-elections, giving credit for the victory to the hard work and dedication of party workers.
The party’s newly appointed Punjab president, Aman Arora, led a press conference at the AAP party office in Chandigarh, where he was accompanied by Working President Amansher Singh Sharry Kalsi, Cabinet Ministers Harjot Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO, MP Malvinder Singh Kang, MLA Devinderjit Singh Laddi Dhos, and other senior leaders.
Aman Arora, while addressing the media, thanked the people of Punjab for giving AAP candidates a decisive win in three out of the four constituencies in the by-polls. He said that this result proves that the people of Punjab continue to place their trust in AAP’s leadership and its vision for a corruption-free government.
Arora credited the victory to the hard work of party workers, volunteers, and leaders who campaigned tirelessly, often at the expense of their personal time and resources, to secure this win.
He also acknowledged the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, who entrusted him with the responsibility of Party President, and pledged to continue working as a united team to fulfill the promises made to the people of Punjab.
Arora further said that the victory reflects the people’s strong support for AAP’s commitment to improving Punjab’s healthcare, education, and employment opportunities, while eradicating corruption.
He pointed out that AAP has been successful in bringing revolutionary changes to the state, such as free electricity, nearly 48,000 job opportunities without bribes or recommendations, and significant investments in the education and healthcare sectors.
He also expressed gratitude to the party workers, volunteers, and leadership for their tireless efforts in securing the party’s win.
Referring to the ongoing political scenario, Arora noted that the results have shown the defeat of Congress leaders like Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa in their home constituencies.
He stated that AAP’s victory represents the collective strength of the party, which is bigger than any individual.
Arora praised AAP for being the most disciplined political party in Punjab, focused on the issues that matter most to the people and committed to the welfare of all citizens.
Aman Arora, while addressing the media, remarked that if anyone is more pleased about the defeats of Raja Warring and Sukhjinder Randhawa, it is Pratap Singh Bajwa.
He pointed out that Congress is no longer a unified party but is now fragmented into multiple factions—Bajwa Misal, Channi Misal, Randhawa Misal, and Warring Misal—each focused on its own interests rather than the party’s collective goals.
Aman Arora also pointed out that the recent bypoll results have made it clear that the people of Punjab continue to trust AAP’s leadership and policies.
Despite some initial misconceptions about the party’s chances, especially in urban areas, AAP secured a decisive victory. In the four constituencies, AAP garnered a remarkable 46% of the total vote share, with Congress at 33% and BJP trailing far behind with only 10%.
Arora noted that BJP’s expectations of a stronghold in urban areas, especially in places like Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, and Barnala, were not met, and the party’s vote share was significantly low.
AAP’s vote share in urban areas was particularly strong, further solidifying their support base, with 43% in municipalities compared to Congress’s 36% and BJP’s mere 10%. This clear mandate reflects the people’s faith in the party’s vision for Punjab’s development.
Looking ahead, Aman Arora expressed confidence that AAP’s success would continue in future elections, including municipal corporation, district and block samiti elections.
He assured the party’s supporters that AAP would continue to work as a united team, addressing the real issues faced by the people of Punjab, and remain committed to improving the lives of the common man.
He expressed his belief that the party would fight the upcoming 2027 elections with even greater strength and determination, surpassing their previous success.
The party’s success in the recent by-elections has further solidified its position, now holding 94 out of 117 seats. This boost in momentum has strengthened AAP’s resolve to continue its growth, with party leaders expressing confidence that the 2027 elections will see an even bigger victory.
In conclusion, Arora reiterated his deep gratitude to the people of Punjab for their continued faith in AAP.
He reaffirmed that the party would continue to focus on development, transparency, and good governance, ensuring that the voices of the common people are heard and their needs are addressed.
The victory in the by-elections is just the beginning, and AAP remains committed to making Punjab a model of progress and prosperity under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann.
