The Covid Care Center set up by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee at Bholath town of Kapurthala district will start its services from Wednesday May 12.
The care centre has been set up at the Royal Palace at Bholath. This is the third Covid care medical centre in Punjab by the SGPC to provide preliminary medical aid and medicines to the Covid-19 patients as well as oxygen when required.
Earlier, the SGPC started these services for treatment of Covid-19 patients at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Alamgir, Ludhiana and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda.
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur said that with the start of Covid Care Centre at Bholath, the SGPC would provide medical services to the people of every region of Punjab to deal with the current Covid-19 crisis.
“After Sri Guru Ramdas Hospital at Majha, Amritsar which is the leading hospital for the treatment of Covid-19, with the opening of these Covid Care Centres at various places in Malwa and Doaba region, the people of entire Punjab would get health services close to their areas”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the centre to be opened at Bholath would provide its services with 25-beds. Like the earlier care centers, this one would also have oxygen concentrators. She said that duties of specialist doctors and medical staff have been placed, who will perform their services under alternative arrangements.
SGPC President said that the objective of the Sikh body is to provide health services to the people at the earliest in this time of crisis so that they could avoid inconvenience.
Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Covid Care Centres at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib and Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Alamgir have provided health services to a large number of patients, many of whom have returned home healthy. She said that these health centres also have special arrangements for langar for the patients and their family members.
