Prominent Sikh leaders include DSGMC members join BJP at Delhi

In the dignified presence of Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, more than 1,000 eminent personalities, including members of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and prominent leaders of the Sikh community, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the party’s central office, on Saturday.

During the event, BJP National General Secretary Shri Tarun Chugh, BJP National Secretary Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva were also present.

It was a historic moment at the BJP Central Office when more than 1,000 eminent personalities of the Sikh community joined the BJP, expressing unwavering faith in the ongoing development journey under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Among them were members of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, including Shri Bhupendra Singh Ginni, Shri Ramandeep Singh Thapar, Shri Parvinder Singh Lucky, Shri Manjeet Singh Aulakh, Shri Ramanjyot Singh, Shri Jasmine Singh Nauni, and Shri Harjeet Singh Pappa.

Each member joining the BJP received a membership slip and wore a plaque, symbolizing their inclusion in the BJP family. They unanimously reiterated their resolve to contribute to the country’s development journey.

Hon’ble National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda welcomed the members of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee into the BJP family and highlighted the special attachment that the illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has always had towards the Sikh community.

People from every class and community are impressed by the public welfare and development work of Prime Minister Shri Modi, leading them to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Everyone, including the members of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, is eager to contribute to fulfilling the Prime Minister’s resolve of building a “Viksit Bharat”.

Shri Nadda expressed gratitude to the Sikh brothers for joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, highlighting their role as the guardians of unity, integrity, and security of the country.

He acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by the Sikh community for the nation’s welfare and security. The BJP has actively promoted the unity, integrity, and security of the nation, with the Sikh community playing a crucial role in these efforts.

While other parties have made promises and offered inducements to gain support from the Sikh community, it is Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who has truly worked for their welfare.

BJP National President highlighted the Prime Minister’s deep connection with Punjab, stemming from his extensive visits and prolonged stays in various cities of the state during his organizational tenure. Prime Minister’s special affection for Punjab and his commitment to its development.

Despite long standing demands, previous governments had not prioritized critical initiatives such as amending the FCRA law to facilitate global support for Sri Takht Harmandir Sahib. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this amendment was made, enabling devotees worldwide to contribute to Harmandir Sahib.

Additionally, the Modi government exempted langar from taxes, ensuring its accessibility to all. Prime Minister also resolved long standing issues, such as facilitating the Kartarpur Corridor, which had remained unresolved for 70 years post-partition.

This initiative allows Sikh devotees to visit and pay homage at the holy Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib with ease. Furthermore, the Prime Minister actively spearheaded the celebration of the 350th Guru Parv, showcasing his dedication to honoring Sikh heritage and traditions.

Shri Nadda emphasized the Prime Minister’s decisive action in addressing the tragic events of the 1984 riots by establishing an SIT to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the atrocities.

Due to these efforts, individuals implicated in the 1984 riots are now behind bars. Additionally, through the celebration of Veer Bal Diwas, Prime Minister Modi has effectively highlighted the invaluable contributions of the Sikh community nationwide.

The recognition and respect accorded to the Sikh community are only possible within the Bharatiya Janata Party. He reiterated the party’s unwavering support for the Sikh community under the Prime Minister’s leadership, vowing to continue efforts to integrate them into the mainstream fabric of society.

BJP National General Secretary Shri Tarun Chugh emphasized that under the esteemed leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the entire nation, including the Sikh community, is progressing towards prosperity.

All the leaders who have joined BJP have joined the BJP family to contribute to this journey of nation-building under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the guidance of Hon’ble National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva extended a warm welcome to the leaders joining the BJP, emphasizing that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is progressing towards the goal of becoming a “Viksit Bharat.”

Prime Minister Modi’s dedication to justice for the Sikh community is evident through actions like prosecuting those responsible for the 1984 riots and opening the Kartarpur Corridor, which are seen as gestures of respect and honour towards the Sikh faith.

BJP National Secretary Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, in his welcome address to the newly joined leaders, highlighted the significant changes brought about by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the last 75 years.

The historical injustices faced by the Sikh community since 1947, including the massacre during the November 1984 riots, where Sikhs were brutally targeted.

Shri Narendra Modi’s government ensured justice by prosecuting the perpetrators of the 1984 Sikh riots. The inclusive development agenda under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, aims at the progress of every individual, religion, region and state across the nation.
