The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is taking significant steps toward empowering women and enhancing their participation in the workforce.
In line with this commitment, the state will soon launch a series of Job Skill Camps across all districts. Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur will launch the first camp on September 10, from district Sri Muktsar Sahib.
Speaking on this initiative, Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, highlighted the Government’s dedication to the welfare of women, children and the elderly. “The Punjab Government places a high priority on improving the standard of living for women and these job skill camps are a pivotal step in that direction,” said Dr. Kaur.
The camps, organized in collaboration with the Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department, will be primarily hosted in educational institutions. These camps aim to equip women with the essential skills, knowledge and resources necessary to boost their employability and entrepreneurship, career advancement and job placement assistance.
Dr. Kaur emphasized that the primary objective of these camps is to close the gender gap in employment, foster economic empowerment and build confidence among women. “In today’s era, it is crucial to support women in developing their skills to ensure they have equal opportunities to thrive in the workforce,” she added.
The Minister further reiterated the Punjab Government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of all societal sections, with a special focus on women’s empowerment. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, various initiatives are being implemented to support the holistic development of women across the state.
